Because We Said “Count On Us”: Our Love for ASSIST Disability Services

Smiling woman and young adult with Down syndrome sit together at a table using a tablet, representing the mission of ASSIST Disability Services and RPM Regions’ support for inclusive community programs.

Some partnerships are transactional.
This one is personal.

ASSIST Disability Services wasn’t an idea on a napkin when we first heard about it. It was already in motion, with vision Pam Kuper and Cheryl Yancey had been building quietly and boldly behind the scenes.

And the second they shared it with us, we were all in.

They told us about a nonprofit that would step into the hard places, for families navigating disability, fear, exhaustion, and the overwhelming maze of systems. No red tape. No gatekeeping. Just practical, heartfelt support delivered with love.

We didn’t have to think twice. We looked at them and said:
“Whatever y’all need, you can count on us.”

And we’ve meant it ever since.

Why We Support ASSIST Disability Services in Virginia

This isn’t just a cause we support.
It’s a calling we believe in. It’s a reflection of everything we try to build at RPM Regions: showing up, loving well, and serving with no strings attached.

What makes it even more special?  ASSIST Disability Services was born in King George County, right here in our own backyard, and while they’re headquartered in Fredericksburg, that King George foundation still runs deep. It’s part of our territory, part of our story, and we couldn’t be prouder to support their mission.

They believe every child can be successful, and that every family deserves the support to help them thrive. And they don’t just say it. They live it.

As Pam shared with us:
“We believe every child can be successful, in school and in life, with the right supports. And every family can help their child thrive when they’re supported too.”

Whether it’s helping a single parent keep their child enrolled, navigating the challenges of an IEP, or just being the steady presence when life gets overwhelming, ASSIST leads with compassion and action.

A recent win, shared by Cheryl:
“We’re helping a fresh-out-of-high-school adult with autism build independent living skills at home to prepare for a job or volunteer role, so they can contribute to the community, meeting them where they are and growing from there.”

This isn’t about numbers. It’s about people.

Families who feel like no one hears them. Parents who are exhausted. Young adults who just need a chance to shine in a world that doesn’t always make room for them.

ASSIST Disability Services steps into those gaps with grace, humility, and fierce love.

As Cheryl reminded us:
“All our services are completely free to families. We rely entirely on community support, whether that’s donations, volunteer time, or people spreading the word.”

No fees. No billing. No barriers. Just heart. Just help. Just real impact.

We don’t just love their mission.
We love them, Pam, Cheryl, and every person who carries this vision forward.

What’s Next: An Elegant Murder Mystery Benefit Gala

And we’re not done.

We’re dreaming together now. Something meaningful. Something joyful.
Something that brings people in and reminds us what community really looks like.

Let’s just say:
RPM Regions + ASSIST Disability Services = An Elegant Murder Mystery Benefit Gala

It’s going to be unforgettable, and it’s going to do a whole lot of good. Stay tuned. We can’t wait to share more.

Until then, we invite you to support them. Give, pray, share, volunteer. However you feel called, just know you’ll be backing something real.

At RPM Regions, community service isn’t a checkbox, it’s who we are. It’s personal. As parents to Laila’h, our miracle girl who’s taught us more about grace, strength, and joy than we could ever teach her, we know firsthand how vital support systems can be. We’ve walked the road many families face, navigating resources, celebrating milestones that others take for granted, and cherishing every moment. That’s why when Pam and Cheryl shared their dream for ASSIST Disability Services, it wasn’t a question. It was a calling. We believe in standing with families, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because we’ve been there. And we still are.

Thank you, Pam. Thank you, Cheryl. We’re behind you always!
