When most people hear “cash flow,” they think one thing: income. Money in the bank. A check each month.

And while yes cash flow absolutely puts food on the table, it’s more than that.

Cash flow is control.

It gives you breathing room, options, and the ability to plan long-term. It’s what allows you to weather vacancies, maintenance surprises, or shifts in the market without panicking.

And in 2024, when we were trying to build something stable in one of the toughest rural markets in Virginia, that control meant everything.
